Emmanuel Tuyisenge

Emmanuel Tuyisenge

Tuyisenge Emmanuel was abandoned by his mother when he was two years old—she moved to the city, and he has never known his father. He lives in a single-room home with his 82-year-old grandmother, who survives on a state pension of just $7 per month. Her health is poor—her knees are in constant pain, and walking is very difficult for her. Despite these challenges, she is Emmanuel’s sole caregiver and support.
