The program begins with a sewing workshop at 6:00 p.m., and then, while participants continue working on their projects, our invited guests will join them for a conversation starting at 7:00 p.m.

The participants in the discussion are Orsolya Karafiáth, writer, poet, translator, and journalist; Andrea Morris, president of the Close to Africa Foundation; and Anita Fúrós, a staff member of the Power of Humanity Foundation. Three very different women discuss—sometimes provocatively, sometimes less so—femininity, motherhood, children, whether a woman can be considered a woman if she does not give birth, what happens when a woman grows old, and so on. All of this, from Africa to Hungary.

In the sewing workshop, everyone can express their creativity, even with minimal sewing skills. We’ll be making small spring-themed items (door decorations, keychains, and the like) that anyone can put together using the pre-cut pieces provided. The components are made from recycled denim and African fabrics, and everyone can choose according to their own taste. We’ll show you how to assemble them and help you if needed. We also encourage your own ideas, and we’ll have materials available for that as well.

The event is free, but due to limited supplies of materials, registration is required to participate in the sewing workshop.
