Daniel and his siblings are supported by their mother through farming. They have a small plot of land around their house where they grow potatoes and cassava. Their father passed away 7 years ago due to liver disease. His sister, Sofia, is 21 years old and has completed high school, but is currently looking for work. His younger sister, Nema is in first grade of high school. They also live with Sofia's 2-year-old daughter.
A kimagaslóan jó tanulmányi átlagú Daniel kedvenc tantárgyai a matematika és a fizika. Félévi vizsga eredménye 80,4% lett, matekból érte el a legtöbb pontszámot. Az elmúlt hónapban ő volt az osztályelső.
Pilóta szeretne majd lenni, de sajnos nincs ilyen képzés Ruandában.
