Janvière lives in a family of three with her father and sister. Her mother passed away 10 years ago due to a stomach illness. Her father works as a security guard at a high school and is the sole provider for the family. He can read and write in Kinyarwanda. His unemployed sister, Joserini, lives with her along with her two children and husband. Her other sister, Ariette, is a mother of two and is currently also unemployed. Jeanne and Silini recently graduated from high school and are also looking for work.
Janvière had to miss school three times because they frequently moved to different homes.
Despite these challenges, Janvière excels in high school with an average of 62.2%. Her favorite subjects are chemistry and biology.
