But what is Hint of Africa or "Csipetnyi Afrika" in Hungarian?
We transform unwanted, used clothing into something new with a touch of colorful or printed fabric.
How we do that?
Megunt, használt ruhadarabokat varázsolunk újjá egy csipetnyi színes vagy feliratos anyaggal.

What are those prints?
In West Africa, it is customary for textile factories to produce a new pattern regarding International Women's Day on March 8th. During this time, bosses, husbands and relatives give women enough fabric to make beautiful dresses for themselves. These fabrics are called "huit-marsi" (pronounced "wee-marsie"), which means March 8th fabrics. They always include slogans promoting women's empowerment.
Hint of Africa designs incorporate these slogans in their collections. Here are some examples from their denim jackets:
"Dignité de la femme," meaning "Dignity of Women"
"La femme sage batit sa maison," meaning "A wise woman builds her own house"
"J’ai les droits donc je suis," meaning "I have rights, therefore I am."
If you have any unwanted pieces of clothing that you would like to add a touch of Africa to, or even a "huit-marsi" slogan, you can contact us at
