The curatorium of the Near Africa Foundation has decided which two students from Bamako will have the opportunity to attend a good university in their homeland with the Hungary Helps – Magyarország segít scholarship. Hungary Helps – Magyarország segít ösztöndíjával.
This scholarship has already paid for two years of private university for three girls from the Sansfil slums.
This year, two boys are joining this team.
It wasn't an easy choice because all applicants were very motivated and worthy of support. The board gave the opportunity to the two applicants with the best academic results so far, who are:
Moussa Bakary Traoré és
Lassine Ballo
Both of them were able to attend school thanks to Hungarian private supporters since their primary school years, and we have known them for many years.
They received their support through the Africa Another Way – Afrika másként Foundation.
The boys are not only good students but also resourceful young people full of ambitions. One of them will study business management and administration, while the other will study computer science.
We congratulate Moussa and Lassine and wish them success so that they can be an example to their entire community!
„Avec l’éducation tout est possible!”
Our girl scholarship students and their families have also signed our annual agreement, which entitles them to the Hungarian scholarship. The agreement includes the family's commitment not to accept a marriage proposal for their daughter while she is studying.
Djénéba Touré is in her third year, while Astan Kouma is in her second year at the EcoSup private economic univsersity in Bamako.
Assitan Koné, after a summer-long professional internship, is starting her second year at the health college. She still wants to become a midwife.
We wish them all the best for their further studies!
We thank the Hungary Helps agency for creating the Hungarian scholarship!
The scholarship has a huge reputation and had huge success in the Sansfil slum.
Unemployment and despair are increasing in the country. Without a competitive degree from a private university, there is no chance for a young person in Bamako to find a job today. These girls and boys can hopefully set an example for others.
But there's more!
Given the great interest, we thought it would be good to give more young people this opportunity. Therefore, we are working to bring back the Near Africa University Scholarship, which is funded by private supporters. Stay with us and follow our news!
